Day of reckoning for secret water barons Legdve Aantiy e o Thursday 27 February will be a massive day in NSW parliament. I will be leading a debate on whether we need a national water register. This is the debate politicians have been avoiding for years. It's finally happening because of you. Rural community group Speak Up organised a petition. The petition called on NSW Parliament to lobby the federal government for a royal commission into water and national water register. At present, politicians, celebrities, foreign multinationals they can all own our most valuable resource. They can hide their identity, manipulate the price and make millions of dollars at the expense of our struggling farmers. A national water register is an online database which will allow you to search the names of politicians, individuals and companies who own our water. This is the first step towards fixing our water mess finding out who owns it. Because the petition reached the magic 10,000-signature mark, parliament must debate it. A big thank you must go to Speak Up and everyone who signed this petition. Helen Dalton MP Helen Dalton MP I'll be strongly supporting the petition motion. Will the NSW Government support our farmers? Or will they continue to protect the secret water barons? We shall soon find out. helendalton22 Helen Dalton MP Helen Dalton MP for Murray www.helendalton.com.au Day of reckoning for secret water barons Legdve Aantiy e o Thursday 27 February will be a massive day in NSW parliament.
